Estimates & Insurance Assistance, handled start to finish

Free estimates and hands-on help navigating your insurance claim.

Why the insurer's first number is usually the low one

Every estimate at New Central Auto Body is free with no obligation. Stop by 4737 Nicollet Ave in Minneapolis or call (612) 827-2589 and we will set a time that works for you. We look at the car in person, because final pricing is confirmed after an in-person shop inspection. A photo or an online ballpark only gets you so far.

Insurance companies typically issue an initial estimate that is significantly lower than the actual cost to repair your vehicle. An adjuster writes from what is visible, and a bumper cover or a fender hides a lot. Once the car is apart, the real list gets longer. Our line on that is simple: you won't be left paying the difference.

How a claim gets worked: adjuster, estimate, approvals, paperwork

We work with all insurance companies and handle the claims process directly with your insurer, including estimates, approvals and paperwork. We talk to your adjuster, submit the estimate and coordinate the approvals, so you are not stuck on hold or filling out forms while your car sits.

When teardown turns up damage the first estimate did not list, that extra work is documented and sent back to the insurer as a supplement for approval. It is the normal way a claim catches up with the real repair. If you already have a claim number, bring it along with your insurance company's name. The booking form on our contact page has a place for both, and we reply within one business day.

Your shop, your choice, with or without a claim

In Minnesota, you have the legal right to choose your own repair shop regardless of what your insurer recommends. You do not need your insurance company's preferred shop to get the claim paid, and you do not have to hand the car to whoever the adjuster names first.

Do you have to go through insurance at all? No. Paying out of pocket? No problem. We welcome self-pay jobs, with upfront pricing and no obligation to go through insurance at all.

If your insurer decides the repair cost exceeds the car's value, they may total it instead of approving repairs. We are happy to walk you through your estimate and help you understand your options either way.
